7 Bedroom Ski Chalet in Villard-Reculas

Exceptional chalet of 220 m2 on the slopes in the village of Villard Reculas (1500 meters above sea level) on the domain of the Alpes d'Huez. Start and finish skis on the feet. The center and its local shops are located below the chalet with the ski school, the ski rentals, a supermarket and some restaurants.
The chalet is spread over four levels with a cathedral lounge and a fireplace overlooking an open kitchen with a dining room, all on 60 m2.
On the upper floor are two bedrooms with two bathrooms and a separate toilet.
Coming down from the living room, we have access to four bedrooms, including three doubles and a quadruple with single bunk beds with two showers, a bathroom and a separate toilet. On the same floor, in a quiet corner is the laundry room and the sauna with two showers.
Down to the basement, there is a bedroom of four with a double bed and two single bunk beds and a separate bathroom, separate toilet and a gym with 2 bicycles cardio.
Two private parking spaces are covered and other parking lots are available on the road.
The situation of the chalet and its configuration will ensure you to spend a sporting and relaxing stay with all the comforts in a decor of natural charm that brings the decoration in old wood of recovery. The authenticity of the surrounding nature away from urban noise will encourage even more to recharge and to draw a new energy restoring and soothing.
Sheets and linens will be provided, as well as a basic food kit.
Everything is there to spend an excellent stay in a spacious and warm atmosphere.
The development of the cottage is being finished, that's why some details of the decoration will be made during the month of December, as well as the finishing of the two rooms of four people at -1 and in the basement.

Summary: We have just returned from a week stay at chalet La Horde in the village of Villard Reculas. For a group of 18, the chalet was fabulous! Split over 4 floors, there was plenty of space for everyone. We were welcomed by Serge our host who was very helpful in showing us down to the chalet. I should note that chalet La Horde is at the bottom of several flights of stairs. This is not an issue for the able bodied but should really be noted on the property description for consideration. There is alternative access lower down but earlier in the winter season this would be snow covered. We did have 1 issue where we requested non feather bedding and Serge did try to sort this out for us. Sadly there was not an alternative available and so we did make our own substitution. I should note that all bedding in the property was feather, which in many ways is a beautiful addition, but not if you have allergies. The chalet was fully equipped with everything we needed for the week and we made use of all its facilities including cooking meals every evening, the sauna and washing facilities. We had 8 children in our group and there was plenty of space for them to enjoy playing and a game of table football. We worked out quickly an easier route to the slopes was to leave the chalet at the lower level and to drive along to the venicular lift that took you to the bottom of the Le Villarais chairlift. From there we could ride up to the ski area and there was a blue run down.

Summary: 16 of us (3 families) had a great week. The chalet is beautifully decorated and well equipped. The steps were not an issue for us as you only use them on arrival and when you leave, you can access the slopes and village from the right outside the chalet door. The views are stunning and the village is very pretty with a couple of very nice restaurants. The local shop had everything you would need. The access to the main slopes of Alpe d'Huez was very easy from the chalet, its also worth knowing that the Villarais chairlift can also bring you down. Would highly recommend.

Summary: Apartment very comfortable, well equipped and accommodating. The sauna was well used! Bottom apartment of a block built on the side of the hill so access with luggage, shopping, recycling is down (and up) several flights of stairs.
